Torchlight Procession 29th of December

A 15,000 strong crowd carrying torches and wearing blonde wigs march from the Edinburgh Old Town down to Princes Street, along Waterloo Place and up to the ancient Edinburgh meeting ground Calton hill, were they follow Vikings and Scotsmen dragging a ship up Calton Hill.

After arriving on Calton hill fireworks are set off and the blazing flames from the ship light up the night sky when the ship is put to the torch.

Night Afore Fiesta 30th of December

A free family-orientated event of the highland kind. Music, dance and street theatre take place in a carnival atmosphere in a warm up to Edinburgh’s New Years Eve Party.

Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party 31st of December

When midnight strikes a huge dazzling fire works display is launched in to the night sky from Edinburgh castle and 6 other sites through out Edinburgh. The street party takes place on Princess Street and in Princess Street Gardens, with Live Music on Several Stages. The event includes pipe bands, street theatre, an amazing fireworks display and much more.
